Community Infrastructure Levy


The Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) is a new levy that local authorities can choose to charge on developments in their area.

Essential to the setting of the charge is evidence of the impact on existing public sector infrastructure of new development.

We pioneered a methodology with Local Planning Authorities in Hertfordshire to provide a quantified net health infrastructure requirement.

Our work provided an indication of the impact of new housing on primary and secondary care along with mental health services.
